An asterisk is used to identify those with a breed survey status in Australia, Germany and many European countries.
Ch Denotes that an animal is a Champion i.e. under the Australian National Kennel Club has received 100 challenge points - a challenge certificate is awarded to the best female and male of each breed in a Championship Show (whether Specialist or All-Breeds); the number of points is dependent on the number of animals exhibited per breed however the winning bitch and dog receive an 'extra 5 points' for being Best of Breed'. (The maximum points for each challenge is 25 points in Australia). When an exhibit wins Best In Group this achievement automatically equates to a challenge certificate of 25 points.
